General Information

Pupates in a cocoon spun between blades of grass.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes come to light.
Often disturbed during day

Forewing length: 13-15mm.
Foodplant(s): False Brome (Brachypodium sylvaticum), Tor-grass (Brachypodium pinnatum), Purple Moor-grass (Molinia caerulea), grasses
Flying: One/two generations, June-July and August-September

Many habitats, damp meadows and woodland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 137 (50.7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
