General Information

This species is quite variable in colour.

 

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 19-26mm.
Foodplant(s): Common Couch (Elytrigia repens), Cock's-foot (Dactylis glomerata), grasses
Flying: One generation, June-August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Everywhere.

Regional Information

Recorded in 160 (59.3%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
