General Information

Pupates in moss at the base of a tree trunk.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 17-19mm.
Foodplant(s): Ash (Fraxinus excelsior), Wild Privet (Ligustrum vulgare), Alder (Alnus glutinosa), Hazel (Corylus avellana)
Flying: One generation, June-July
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local

Habitat

Woodland, scrub on chalky soil and fens.

Regional Information

Recorded in 86 (31.9%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
