General Information

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an egg.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 15-17mm.
Foodplant(s): Pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur), Sessile Oak (Quercus petraea), Hazel (Corylus avellana)
Flying: One generation, August-mid October
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Broadleaved woodland, scrub, parkland and gardens.

Regional Information

Recorded in 67 (24.8%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in October 2022
