General Information

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light but in small numbers only.

Forewing length: 16-19mm.
Foodplant(s): Common Restharrow (Ononis repens), Spiny Restharrow (Ononis spinosa), Henbane (Hyoscyamus niger), Sea Sandwort (Honckenya peploides), Hazel (Corylus avellana), oaks (Quercus spp.), willows (Salix spp.)
Flying: One generation, June-July

Habitat

Calcareous grassland, coastal sand-dunes and vegetated shingle.

Regional Information

Recorded in 12 (4.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
