Pupates in a stem of the food plant.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an egg.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 14-18mm.
Foodplant(s): Reedmace (Typha latifolia), Lesser Reedmace (Typha angustifolia), Common Club-rush (Schoenoplectus lacustris), Yellow Iris (Iris pseudacorus)
Flying: One generation, August-September

Habitat

The edges of broads, lakes and gravel pits.
