General Information

Pupates in a dead reed stem.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 14-18mm.
Foodplant(s): Common Reed (Phragmites australis)
Flying: One generation, mid May-early July
UK Presence: Resident and Immigrant
National status: Nationally Scarce A

Habitat

Broads, coastal reedbeds, fens and marshes. Open, rather than dense, reedbeds.

Regional Information

Recorded in 2 (0.7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
