General Information

The forewing of male of this species is orange-brown with a narrow, irregular, sometimes broken, dark central cross-band and a rather ill-defined dark streak at the wing tip. That of female has a similar pattern, but is deep brown with a small, black, white-ringed central dot and sometimes very fine, wavy whitish cross-lines. There is only minor variation.

Overwinters as Doesn't overwinter in the UK.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 12-14mm.
Flying: Arriving April-November

Warm, sunny places.
