General Information

This species can be distinguished from similar species by its brown or dark brown general colouration and the relatively well-defined basal patch and median fascia.


Wingspan: 10-13 mm.
Foodplant(s): Creeping Thistle (Cirsium arvense)
Flying: Two generations, May and July-August
National status: Common

Habitat

Fields, rough meadows, waysides and waste places.

Regional Information

Recorded in 72 (26.7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
