General Information

This species is similar to H. pruniana, but is generally larger.


Wingspan: 15-21 mm.
Foodplant(s): hawthorns (Crataegus spp.), Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa)
Flying: Two overlapping generations, June-August
National status: Common

Habitat

Hedges, thickets, gardens, orchards and open moorland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 108 (40%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in July 2023
