General Information

This species has two charactistic bands across the forewing and a chevron-like mark nearer the wingtip.

 

The larvae produce a long, narrow tubular leaf mine.


Wingspan: 7.5-8.5mm
Foodplant(s): elms (Ulmus spp.)
Flying: Two generations, May and August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Recorded in 191 (70.7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
