General Information

This species is often confused with P.purpuralis. The arrangement of the postmedian markings on the forewing to form one main golden blotch near the costa is diagnostic.

Flies during the day

Wingspan: 18-20 mm.
Foodplant(s): mints (Mentha spp.)
Flying: Two generations, May-June and August
National status: Common

Recorded in 100 (37%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
