General Information

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 15-17mm.
Foodplant(s): oaks (Quercus spp.), birches (Betula spp.), hawthorns (Crataegus spp.), sallows (Salix spp.), lime (Tilia spp.), Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus), Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria), Common Nettle (Urtica dioica), herbaceous plants, broadleaved trees
Flying: One generation, March-early May
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Everywhere.
