General Information

This species is a fairly common immigrant but does not appear to be able to overwinter in the UK.

Overwinters as Doesn't overwinter in the UK.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 15-25mm.
Foodplant(s): herbaceous plants
Flying: One generation, July-October, but recorded in all months
UK Presence: Immigrant, Possible Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Gardens, farmland, heathland, moorland and woodland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 73 (27%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in July 2023

Recorded date range (Adult): 21 April to 07 December
