General Information

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 11-12mm.
Foodplant(s): hawthorns (Crataegus spp.), Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa), Dogwood (Cornus sanguinea)
Flying: One generation, May-June
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Woodland, hedgerows, heath, fens and gardens.

Regional Information

Recorded in 106 (39.3%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
