General Information

This species has a distinctive resting posture.

 

Pupates in needles on or below the ground.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.
Often disturbed during day

Forewing length: 8-10mm.
Foodplant(s): Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris)
Flying: One generation, April-May
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Established pine forest and pine plantations.

Regional Information

Recorded in 14 (5.2%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
