General Information

The females of this species are paler and generally larger than the males. Both sexes have distinctively long labial palps.


Wingspan: 24-40 mm.
Foodplant(s): Common Reed (Phragmites australis), Reed Sweet-grass (Glyceria maxima)
Flying: One generation, June-July
National status: Local

Habitat

Wetland habitats where common-reed grows.

Regional Information

Recorded in 77 (28.5%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
