General Information

This moth has a black head and a plain pale bronzy brown forewing.

 

The larvae produce a highly contorted gallery mine.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.

Wingspan: 4.5-6mm.
Foodplant(s): Small-leaved Lime (Tilia cordata), Common Lime (Tilia x europaea)
Flying: Two generations, May-June and August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local

Regional Information

Recorded in 43 (15.9%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in September 2023
