General Information

This is the largest of the four Dioryctria species. The status of the four Dioryctria species in the UK is uncertain, as they are very difficult to tell apart.


Wingspan: 28-35 mm.
Foodplant(s): pines (Pinus spp.)
Flying: One generation, July-September
National status: Nationally Scarce B

Habitat

Conifer plantations and heathland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 1 (0.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
