General Information

This species is highly variable. It has hooked tips and a reticulated (chequered) pattern on its forewings.


Wingspan: 13-19 mm.
Foodplant(s): hawthorns (Crataegus spp.), broadleaved shrubs
Flying: One generation, September-October
National status: Common

Recorded in 66 (24.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
