General Information

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 18-21mm.
Foodplant(s): Heather (Calluna vulgaris), Bog-myrtle (Myrica gale), Alder (Alnus glutinosa), Bladder Campion (Silene vulgaris), broadleaved shrubs, grasses
Flying: One generation, late May-early August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Heathland, chalky downland and fenland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 31 (11.5%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in June 2023
