Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 17-21mm.
Foodplant(s): Tufted Hair-grass (Deschampsia cespitosa), Heather (Calluna vulgaris), clovers (Trifolium spp.), broadleaved shrubs
Flying: One generation, September-October
UK Presence: Resident

Habitat

Heathland, grassland, road-side verges, woodland rides.

Recorded in 74 (27.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
