General Information

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 14-16mm.
Foodplant(s): Common Nettle (Urtica dioica), White Dead-nettle (Lamium album), Hedge Bedstraw (Galium mollugo), Hound's-tongue (Cynoglossum officinale), low-growing plants
Flying: One/two generations, June-July and September
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Gardens, farmland, hedgerows, heathland and woodland edges.

Regional Information

Recorded in 138 (51.1%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
