General Information

Pupates in loose plant debris on the ground.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 13-15mm.
Foodplant(s): Garden Privet (Ligustrum ovalifolium), honeysuckles (Lonicera spp.), herbaceous plants
Flying: One/two generations, July-August and September-October
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Most habitats including waste ground, hedgerows and coastal sand-dunes.

Regional Information

Recorded in 95 (35.2%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
