General Information

This species has a large and conspicuous red-brown or chocolate-brown pre-tornal marking.


Wingspan: 15-20 mm.
Foodplant(s): Bramble (Rubus fruticosus)
Flying: Two overlapping generations, June-August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Woodland and hedgerows where bramble occurs.

Regional Information

Recorded in 110 (40.7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
