General Information

This is a species which is typically well-marked but variable in colour with irregular markings.

 

The silver-white forewing ground colour is characteristic.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.

Wingspan: 12-16 mm.
Foodplant(s): Bog-myrtle (Myrica gale), Heather (Calluna vulgaris), broadleaved trees
Flying: Two generations, April-May and late June
National status: Local

Habitat

Heathland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 49 (18.1%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
