General Information

The smallest of the UK Ethmia species.

The adults can be seen flying on sunny afternoons, but also come to light.

Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.
Flies during the day

Wingspan: 15-19 mm
Foodplant(s): Common Comfrey (Symphytum officinale), Lungwort (Pulmonaria officinalis)
Flying: One generation, May-July
National status: Proposed Red Data Book

Habitat

Fenland, wetlands and damp open woodland as well as waste ground, banks and gardens.

Regional Information

Recorded in 26 (9.6%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
