Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an egg.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 17-20mm.
Foodplant(s): Monterey Cypress (Cupressus macrocarpa), Lawson's Cypress (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana), Leyland Cypress (Cupressocyparis leylandii)
Flying: One generation, late September-November
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Gardens, conifer plantations and parks.

Regional Information

Recorded in 57 (21.1%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
