General Information

This species is one of the larger 'sharks'.

 

Pupates on the ground or in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 19-23mm.
Foodplant(s): Sea Aster (Aster tripolium), Sea Wormwood (Seriphidium maritima), Goldenrod (Solidago virguarea)
Flying: One generation, mid June-early August
National status: Nationally Scarce B

Habitat

Coastal saltmarshes and woodland rides.

Regional Information

There are no records in the system yet in Huntingdonshire.
