This moth is sexually dimorphic in that the males are generally shades of dark-brown and the females are more orangey-buff.
Pupates in loose soil.
Broadleaved woodland and well-wooded areas.
Recorded in 122 (45.2%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
