General Information

This species is slightly smaller than the Rivulet.

 

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light.
Often disturbed during day

Forewing length: 9-11mm.
Foodplant(s): Common Hemp-nettle (Galeopsis tetrahit), Hedge Woundwort (Stachys sylvatica)
Flying: One generation, early June-August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Woodland, hedgerows, country lanes, suburban areas and gardens.

Regional Information

Recorded in 72 (26.7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in August 2022
