This is the only British Burnet moth with six red spots on each forewing. In some forms the outer spots are merged.
This is a rare yellow form.
Overwinters as a larva, sometimes twice. Pupates in a cocoon in an exposed position on a grass stem.
Grassland, verges, coastal habitats.
Recorded in 85 (31.5%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
