General Information

This species has a comparatively broad medio-dorsal blotch of the forewing, but genital dissection is necessary to acheive a positive identification. It flies in sunshine during the day and at dusk and it can be found resting on the flowers of the foodplants in the late afternoon.

Wingspan: c. 14mm.
Foodplant(s): Ox-eye Daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare)
Flying: Two overlapping generations, June-August

Habitat

Rough hillsides, meadows, uncultivated ground and occasionally gardens.

Regional Information

Recorded in 16 (5.9%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
