General Information

This species is similar to C. splendana, but has less contrast between light and dark.


Wingspan: 13-19 mm.
Foodplant(s): Beech (nuts) (Fagus sylvatica)
Flying: Two overlapping generations, June-August
National status: Common

Habitat

Beech woods, especially in calcareous districts.

Regional Information

Recorded in 8 (3%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
