Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an adult.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 17-20mm.
Foodplant(s): oaks (Quercus spp.), birches (Betula spp.), sallows (Salix spp.), Hazel (Corylus avellana), Horse-chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum), Bramble (Rubus fruticosus), Wild Privet (Ligustrum vulgare), Apple (Malus domestica), broadleaved trees, broadleaved shrubs
Flying: One generation, October-May (hibernates)
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local

Habitat

Broadleaved woodland and parkland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 36 (13.3%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
