General Information

Pupates in leaf litter or loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light but in small numbers only.

Forewing length: 10-12mm.
Foodplant(s): Elder (Sambucus nigra), Wild Angelica (Angelica sylvestris), Cow Parsley (Anthriscus sylvetris), Common Hogweed (Heracleum sphondylium), Wild Parsnip (Pastinaca sativa), Wild Carrot (Daucus carota)
Flying: Two generations, May-June and August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local

Habitat

Damp areas and woodland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 83 (30.7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in September 2022
