General Information

This species is smaller and usually more brightly-coloured than the similar Foxglove Pug.

 

Pupates in leaf litter or loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 9-11mm.
Foodplant(s): Common Toadflax (Linaria vulgaris)
Flying: One generation, July-August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Open grassy areas.

Regional Information

Recorded in 33 (12.2%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in August 2022

Recorded date range (Adult): 27 May to 31 August
