General Information

Second brood individuals are often different to those of the first and closely resemble Maiden's Blush.

 

Overwinters as a pupa attached to a leaf or stem.

Forewing length: 14-16mm.
Foodplant(s): Beech (Fagus sylvatica)
Flying: One/two generations, late May-early July and mid August-mid October

Habitat

Usually mature beech woods, but also hedgerow trees, parks and gardens.

Regional Information

Recorded in 6 (2.2%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in June 1992

Recorded date range (Adult): 12 June to 19 August
