General Information

Distinctive, but variable. Prefers dryer grassy areas. Heathland, grassland, woodland, fens and gardens. Fairly common and widespread especially in the Brecks.


Wingspan: 23-29 mm.
Foodplant(s): grasses
Flying: One generation, July-September
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common
