General Information

Two mainland forms of this species. The nominate form angustana occurs in woodland edges, meadows and similar locations where the foodplants are found.


Wingspan: 10-15 mm.
Foodplant(s): plantains (Plantago spp.), Yarrow (Achillia millefolium), Sneezewort (Anthemis ptarmica), marjorams (Origanum spp.), Goldenrod (Solidago virguarea), thymes (Thymus spp.)
Flying: One generation, June-September
National status: Common
