General Information

This moth has an orange/yellow head and a metallic bronze forewing.

 

The larvae produce a broad, irregular gallery mine.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.

Wingspan: 5-6.5mm.
Foodplant(s): Holm Oak (Quercus ilex)
Flying: Two generations, May and September
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local

Habitat

Mainly coastal habitats.

Regional Information

Recorded in 20 (7.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in January 2023
