General Information

This species can be distinguished by its characteristic raised scale-tufts which are visible when at rest.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an adult.

Foodplant(s): Common Hogweed (Heracleum sphondylium), Wild Parsnip (Pastinaca sativa), Cow Parsley (Anthriscus sylvetris), Wild Angelica (Angelica sylvestris), Wild Carrot (Daucus carota), umbellifers (Apium spp.)
