General Information

This moth is a distinctive member of the Glyphipterix, but it does have quite variable forewing markings. It is often seen flying around rushes in sunshine.

 

The dark form, f. cladiella is very similar to G. fuscoviridella.

Flies during the day

Wingspan: 10-15mm
Foodplant(s): rushes (Juncus spp.)
Flying: One generation, May-August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Regional Information

Recorded in 8 (3%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
