General Information

The larvae of this species feed on the ripening seeds of the food plant.

 

Pupates in leaf litter at the base of the food plant.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 13-17mm.
Foodplant(s): Common Meadow-rue (Thalictrum flavum), Lesser Meadow-rue (Thalictrum minus)
Flying: One generation, late June-July
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Nationally Scarce A

Habitat

Wetland localities including fens, marshes and wet meadows.

Regional Information

Recorded in 10 (3.7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in July 2009
