General Information

This species has a white blotch along the outer edge of the forewing which is diagnostic.

 

Pupates in a strong cocoon formed in moss on the food plant.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Male comes to light occasionally. Female not.

Forewing length: 15-20mm.
Foodplant(s): Field Maple (Acer campestre), Sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus)
Flying: One generation, mid May-late July
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local

Habitat

Woodland and scrub.

Regional Information

Recorded in 65 (24.1%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
