General Information

This moth has distinctive black and brown markings on a white background.


Wingspan: 13-18 mm.
Foodplant(s): ragworts (Senecio spp.)
Flying: One generation, June-July
National status: Common

Habitat

Pasture land, chalky places, gravel pits, waysides and sand dunes, with a preference for well-drained, dry localities.

Regional Information

Recorded in 35 (13%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in July 2022
