General Information

This species is believed extinct in the UK, having not been recorded since 1933.

 

Pupates burrowed in decaying wood.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light but in small numbers only.
Often found at rest during day

Forewing length: 13-15mm.
Foodplant(s): hawthorns (Crataegus spp.), Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa)
Flying: One generation, late June-early July
UK Presence: Immigrant
National status: Extinct

Habitat

River valleys, fens and field margins.

Regional Information

Recorded in 2 (0.7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
