General Information

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 17-22mm.
Foodplant(s): Common Comfrey (Symphytum officinale), willowherbs (Epilobium spp.), cleavers (Galium aparine), sallows (Salix spp.), Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa), Apple (Malus domestica), buddleas (Buddlea spp.), broadleaved shrubs
Flying: One generation, June-July

Habitat

Waste ground, suburban habitats, damp habitats, wet meadows and marshes.

Regional Information

Recorded in 58 (21.5%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
