General Information

Pupates in fallen conifer needles or just below the ground.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.
Often found at rest during day

Forewing length: 14-17mm.
Foodplant(s): Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris), Norway Spruce (Picea abies)
Flying: Two generations, mid May-mid June and August-September
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Conifer plantations.

Regional Information

Recorded in 39 (14.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in September 2022
