General Information

The f.goossensiata form of the Ling Pug was originally thought to be a separate species, but is now considered a heathland race of this species.

 

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light but in small numbers only.

Forewing length: 11-13mm.
Foodplant(s): Mugwort (Artemesia vulgaris), Yarrow (Achillia millefolium), wormwoods (Artemesia spp.), ragworts (Senecio spp.), Goldenrod (Solidago virguarea), herbaceous plants
Flying: One generation, June-July
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Gardens and suburban areas.

Regional Information

Recorded in 71 (26.3%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
